    What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise developed by a physical
therapist  Joseph Pilates.  Born in Germany in 1880 Pilates
was a small sickly child, To improve his health,  Pilates
developed exercises that would make him strong and
    healthy.
During World War I,  Pilates was drafted into the armed
forces. There he began to design equipment for use with his
exercises. These combinations of exercisers and equipment
were used to rehabilitate  injured war victims.
Pilates' goal was for precision in  movement. Each
movement initiated by the group of muscles known as "the
core". While performing the series of movements, a client
can expect to experience relaxation and exertion thus
providing a perfect balance for strengthening the
abdominals, "the core" and spine while improving bone
mass. The results is a centered mind and body... a healthy
    new YOU!
